Program Description
ChesMRC is open to the public Monday thru Friday. Provides information, referrals, and direct services for key issues affecting immigrants such as Health, Legal, Labor, Social Service, Education, Safety, and Housing. While the organization serves anyone who requests assistance, ChesMRC's primary focus is to help the new non-English speaking population successfully integrate into the community.

Legal Residency & Citizenship:
Improve and expand immigration and citizenship direct services:
  • Immigration consultations, referrals, and case management
  • Immigration clinics
  • Citizenship classes
  • Employer Advice
The ChesMRC is now a Department of Justice (DOJ) Recognized Organization, which signifies we can legally represent clients in cases with the Department of Homeland Security particularly with US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) without the need of an attorney. We offer the following immigration legal services at little or no cost to qualifying candidates:
  • DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) Applications
  • Family-Based Petitions
  • Citizenship Applications
  • Citizenship Preparation Classes
We also work with local and regional attorneys to assist with any immigration issues that fall outside of our scope of work under the DOJ accreditation.

Youth Development: Improve and maintain youth development programming and services:

  • After-school (all levels) tutoring and mentoring
  • Partnerships with key youth development organizations (Scouts, YMCA, Parks and Rec, Talbot Mentors)

Language and Cultural Competency: Improve and expand language interpretation resources and cultural competency training programs.
