Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center

Organization Description

The mission of the APALRC is to advance the civil and legal rights of the low-income, limited English proficient Asian Pacific Islander community through the provision of linguistically accessible and culturally appropriate civil legal services using a three-prong approach of (1) community legal education; (2) direct representation; and (3) systemic advocacy. APALRC has evolved from an all-volunteer organization to a full-fledged legal services organization with 11 board members, 4 full-time staff and a number of bilingual legal interns and volunteers, and more than 50 trained/qualified legal interpreters, who collectively speak more than 25 different Asian languages and dialects.
